Illness
The back to school sharing of germs has certainly begun. Please remember to keep your child home if they are unwell. Attached is a quick guide to help in knowing when to keep your child home.
Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC)
If you are interested in putting your name forward to be part of SEAC, please submit your information to me, no later than Sept. 30. Your child must have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) in order to be eligible for this committee. The selection of members for this committee will be made at the first Parent Committee meeting. This is not a school-based committee but rather a board-based committee. You can submit your name to me or use the link below to complete the form.
Transitions for Children with Special Education Needs
In partnership with the Western Quebec School Board’s Special Education Advisory Committee, Connexions will be leading a webinar to support families of children and youth with special needs as they experience various transitions on October 21. See the attached poster for more details.

Home and School (H&S)
Please see the attached calendar for hot lunches and H&S events. The H&S Facebook page was lost and a new one created. Please join the new Facebook page to follow up on events.
Terry Fox Walk
Students will be taking part in the Terry Fox Walk on September 25. Please make sure your child has completed the community walk form. See link for pledges. https://schools.terryfox.ca/105731
Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility
With the start of the new school year, the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MTMD) would like to inform the education network about the continuation of the pilot project on the use of motorized personal transportation devices. The MTMD is asking us to help in ensuring that the safety rules for using these devices are communicated to the students concerned and their parents/guardians. Please see the attached documents and flyers (Available in French only).
National Day of Truth and Reconciliation
We encourage you and your child to wear orange on September 30 as we take this time to honour Survivors, remember those who didn’t return home, and promote education and reflection. We will be taking part in a school community art project as well.
Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have any questions.
