Good Afternoon Eardley Community,
I hope this email finds you well, safe and enjoying a few moments of sunshine today.
At the press conference held by Premier Legault at 1:00pm this afternoon, he announced the extension of emergency measures and school closures for the Outaouais region. Our scheduled date of return for in person learning has shifted to Monday, May 10th. By this Friday, you will receive next week’s remote learning schedule from your child’s homeroom teacher.
I know that this may be unwelcomed news to some, if not many. We will continue to focus on a balance between meeting Ministry expectations and building strength within our classroom and school community. Our messaging remains – take care of yourself, take care of your family and please remember to put mental health and well-being at the forefront. The school will continue to support your children the best way we know how – with knowledge, compassion and a big smile.
I am hopeful that we will be able to see our students smiling faces and hear their laughter filling our hallways soon. For now, we focus on the safety of everyone and continue to provide our educational services remotely. I do believe there is a light at the end of this tunnel; I look forward to the day where we can all come together and celebrate the tremendous amount of hard work we have put forward this past year.
From everyone at Eardley – THANK YOU for your continued patience, support and kind words.
Stay safe and I hope to see you soon,
Samantha Halpin
Principal
