Friendship Breakfast
- Our first Friendship Breakfast was a raving success!
- Thank you for the numerous donations and your ongoing support with our community initiatives. We were truly overwhelmed with such happiness this morning as we were setting up for this wonderful event.
- The students and staff left this morning with full bellies and even fuller hearts.
- From all of us here at Eardley, THANK YOU!
Sexuality Education
- Please find the attached letter detailing the protocol for the delivery of the 2023 Sexuality Curriculum.
- Additionally, please find the process for exemption, should you wish to apply for one.
Pep Rally & Spirit Day
- Our next pep rally and swag day is coming up – next Friday, February 3, 2023.
- Pull out your swag or blue and white gear!
- We can’t wait to celebrate our Eardley Pride in style.

Security Background Checks
- A reminder to all parent(s)/guardian(s) that a valid Security/Criminal Background Check is needed to volunteer at Eardley Elementary.
- This is a Western Quebec School Board practice and not unique to Eardley.
- Security Background checks can be completed with Stephanie Lelievre at the front office, free of charge. You will need to provide two pieces of government issues photo ID.
- Security Background Checks are only valid for two years.
School Fees – Reminder
- A friendly reminder that school fees are available for review and payment in the Mozaik parent/guardian portal.
- Please see the attached instructions to access your account.
Friendship Breakfast
- Eardley is pleased to announce our first ever Friendship Breakfast!
- We are a school centred on creating a community environment that thrives on spending meaningful time together.
- The breakfast will take place on Friday, January 27th.
- Please ensure all items that are brought to the friendship breakfast are easily accessible & nut free.
- Items can be brought in the day before or morning of the breakfast, please see the attached flyer for more information.
- We can’t wait to start a new tradition here at Eardley!

Four and Five-Year-Old Kindergarten & FREE In-Person Workshop

- What – Eardley Elementary invites you to participate in the workshop “Calm Evenings, Calm Nights” with Restful Parenting– they are holistic sleep and parenting consultants who work with families to help them find the best path to happier days and peaceful, quiet nights.
- Who – This workshop is organized only for our K4 and K5 guardians and parents.
- When – Wednesday, January 18th from 3:30-4:30. This is a free, one-hour, in-person event, held at Eardley Elementary! You will leave with the tools and knowledge to support healthy routines and reinforce the learning link between home and school.

Good Morning Eardley Community,
I hope this email finds you well, we are back into the swing of things here at Eardley and I have some important information to share as we kick off the new calendar year, please see below.
Grad Photos
- To all of our grade 6 graduating students, grad photos will be taking place on January 16, 2023.
- We look forward to seeing our grade 6 students dressed up for this special occasion!
Bus 95
- The school understands and apologizes for the lateness of Bus 95 this morning.
- Unfortunately, the school was unaware of the delay and a notification was not sent on the WQSB app (please see attached).
- There is a new full-time replacement driver who started today and therefore, this person is getting comfortable with the run.
- The Transportation Department will be keeping a close eye on the run throughout this week, and will make adjustments as needed.
- As Transportation is run separately from the school, please contact transport@wqsb.qc.ca with any questions or concerns.

Due to the impending inclement weather, the Western Quebec School Board has made the decision to close all schools, daycares and central board office tomorrow – December 23rd, 2022. Please note that no one will be at school OR in the daycare.

I hope this email finds you all well and enjoying the new Winter weather. I have a short but important update for you this morning, please see below.
Inclement Weather –
- Please find attached our inclement weather protocol.
- Additionally, for all families who rely on transportation, please find attached instructions on how to install WQSB’s notification app.
- This app provides the most up to date information regarding all bus information – i.e. late arrivals, departures, cancelations etc.
- As of today, the school will rely heavily on this app to provide in the moment, up to date information regarding all transportation information.
Holiday Spirit & Eardley Food Drive
- Our Food Drive is in full swing – tomorrow we are looking for household items!
- All of our angels have been claimed and I want to sincerely thank our community for your endless support! A reminder that angel gifts are due to the front office by December 19, 2022.
- All perishable donations can be dropped off at the school for December 21st.

Graduation Fundraiser – Reminder – Hot Dog Day
What: Eardley’s 1st Hot Dog Day!
When: Friday, December 16th 2022
How: Between December 6th and December 9th students can bring in money and order hot dogs from their homeroom teacher. On December 16th the Grad Committee and Teacher Volunteers will distribute the dogs during each classes lunch hour. Ketchup and Mustard will be available as well. Each Hot Dog cost 1.50$ and all proceeds will go towards the Grade 6 Graduation!
Tomorrow is the last day to send in your orders!

- The Maniwaki Native Friendship Centre is proud to announce their annual Gatineau Pibon Feast!
- The feast will take place at Eardley Elementary for Indigenous Students and Families from all across the Gatineau region.

- A reminder to all parent(s) and guardian(s) – Monday, December 5th is a PD Day.
- The school is closed for professional development – no classes and no daycare.

Home & School Pancake Breakfast and Holiday Market
- Eardley Home & School invites you to join our Eardley community pancake breakfast & Holiday Market.
- December 10th, starting at 9 am.
- Come join us for pancakes, sausage, and a drink ( coffee, water, juice, hot chocolate, or tea available), and then shop at our holiday market. The market has 30+ vendors, Eardley swag to purchase, and our Holiday Grinch.
- Tickets are $8 per person.
- All proceeds go back to our Eardley Students & School.
- Come hungry. Leave happy 🙂

Covid-19 Protocol & Influenza Update
- Please see the attached communication from Mr. Dubeau, our Director General concerning Covid-19 and Influenza protocol.
- Reminder:
- Pay
attention to your child’s health and watch for the onset of symptoms such
as:
- Fever;
- Coughing;
- Loss of the sense of taste or smell;
- Sore throat;
- Runny nose;
- Nasal congestion.
- If your child has a fever OR is
unable to participate in group activities without unusual effort:
- They must stay at home until the fever is gone;
- They return to school when their health status allows them to participate in group activities.
- If your
child has a cough, a soar throat, or nasal congestion:
- They must wear a procedural mask until the symptoms are gone. (Except for children 5 and under).
