MEQ Catch-up plan
As previously communicated, the Ministry has provided funds for schools to support students for the time that was lost due to strike days. We have begun this support. Many students will receive support during the day, in their classes or in small groups. Other students will receive letters for after school support. The support is provided by employees already on staff, during their availability. Unfortunately, we will not be able to take requests for preferred times. The distribution of funds has allowed for 3-4 hours of support per class.
Staff Appreciation Week
Next week is staff appreciation week. Eardley staff have worked very hard to support student progress academically but also provide and organize experiences for them to grow and feel part of our community. Each day next week, Staff will be provided with a token of appreciation. If you would like to create a card or send a message to our staff, please feel free to send it in with your child and we will place the appreciation in a common area.
K4 Registrations
The deadline for K4 registration is March 1 at 3:00pm. Parents/Guardians will be notified once placement is confirmed. We will require some time to make finalize enrollment.
March Break
March break is the week of March 4-8, inclusive. The school and daycare will be closed.
School Fees
Thank you to those who have paid their school fees. We will be contacting those who still have an outstanding balance to arrange for payment. Invoices are available on the parent portal. Should you have questions, please contact the office.
Report Cards
Reminder that report cards will be available on Mosaik March 13.
Sr. Winter Activity Days
Sr. Winter Activity Day is coming up next week. Classes have been divided and will be visiting Lac Beauchamp either February 27 or 29.
Museum of History
Kindergarten and Cycle 1 students will be visiting the Museum of History. Kinder will visit on February 27 and Cycle 1 on February 28.
Criminal Background Checks (CBC)
There is a new procedure for Criminal Background Checks (CBC’s). CBC’s will be completed by the school board and facilitated by the school free of charge for volunteers. Parents/Guardians who wish to obtain a CBC are asked to complete the forms, in person, at the school. We will send in the documentation for you at no cost. Please bring with you two pieces of photo identification. This process can take a couple weeks so planning ahead is crucial. Alternatively, parents/guardians can obtain a check at their cost through Sterling and receive it more quickly.
Parent/Guardian Information Night
Andrea Shattler, WQSB Transition Facilitator, will be holding an information night February 28 at 5:00 at Eardley. The topic is, “Supporting Emotions and Routines for Kindergarten”. Should you be interested, please use the QR code to register and for more information.
