Part 2 Feb 11, 2026 7 pm – 8 PM
Registration: https://parents.learnquebec.ca/family-resources/
The 2-part webinar series is for parents with Pre-teens & Teens (age 10+)
In these two webinars led by the Center of Excellence for Mental Health, you will be introduced to practical tools and strategies that can motivate and empower your child as well as promote their wellbeing. By shifting the way we communicate and respond to our kids, we can help them feel understood, encourage them to take initiative, stay engaged and foster confidence.
Monday Morning Question
Every Monday students have a question that is discussed as a classroom community. You may want to have the same question as a family, bringing home and school together. This week’s question is, why is it important to try your best even if the work is hard?
Save the Date
The Symmes Open House for parents/guardians of grade 6 students will take place the evening of April 29 at 6:00pm. This is the same date as our planned visit with our grade 6 students.
Police Presence
Our school police officer will be present over the next while ticketing cars who park in the accessible parking space without the proper documentation. The accessible space is the first extra large space on the right-hand side, as you turn into the main parking area. We have several students who require this space. This will include pick-up and drop-off.

Art Installation
Our students worked with local artist Marc Walter to create the eagle and sun that is now in our foyer. We chose the eagle because it is a good representation of our school motto: Spirit, Strength and Wisdom but also because we are on the unceded territory of the Algonquin Peoples.

Governing Board
Our next Governing Board meeting is January 28.
