FREE Virtual Workshop – Anxiety in Children with Dr. Nadia Gagnier (Psychologist)
- Eardley, along with five other elementary schools is pleased to offer a free workshop on anxiety in children.
- Workshop will take place on April 5th, 2022 at 7:00pm
- The workshop aims to answer prevalent questions surrounding anxiety in children and will suggest simple and accessible solutions.

Progress Reports – Term 2
- Second Term Progress Reports are available on the Parent/Guardian Mozaik portal.

Covid-19 Vaccinations
- Please find attached the information letter for parents/guardians of children aged 12-17 years old.
- Local School Boards and Schools will not be supporting further vaccination clinics.
- Parents/Guardians are invited, should they wish to proceed, to register online for vaccinations. This includes those who are seeking first, second or booster (third) vaccines.
- The vaccination sites are noted within Clic-Santé depending on the region.

Kindergarten (Four and Five-Year-Old) Open House
- Save the date – Eardley will be hosting an in-person Kindergarten Open House on May 20th, 2022 from 10:00am – 11:30am.
- No other details have been finalized yet, please stay tuned, more information to come!
- Another Save the Date – don’t forget, Andrea Shattler and Jake Ahern-Davy will be holding a FREE virtual presentation on April 26th to provide you with important details regarding your child’s transition to Kindergarten. Please see the attached flyer for more details and to register!
Autism Awareness Day – April 1st, 2022
- LIGHT IT UP BLUE! Join the Eardley community in showing your support for Autism Awareness this Friday, April 1st!
- We encourage our staff and students to wear BLUE!

Purdy’s Fundraiser

Eardley’s Four-Year-Old Kindergarten Program
- As you may have heard, Eardley Elementary will have two K4 classes next year!
- The deadline for registration was Friday, March 11th. No new registrations will be accepted at this time, please stay tuned for further information regarding our K4 Program.

I hope this email finds you all well on this sunny Thursday! I have an important update for you today, please see below.
Family Teacher Meetings March 24th & 25th
- A reminder, please find the attached memo with all the necessary details containing our second round of virtual family-teacher meetings.
- The second round of family-teacher meetings are intended for students who are having challenges academically, behaviourally or in both areas.
- If your child’s homeroom teacher, resource teacher or specialist would like to schedule a meeting with you to discuss your child’s progress, they will contact you directly.
- We will be using Sign-Up Genius as our booking platform once again.
- All meeting requests will be sent no later than March 14th, 2022. Virtual links will be sent upon confirmation of sign-up through the Genius platform.
Graduation Photos and Graduation Date
- Graduation Photos will take place March 15th at Eardley Elementary.
- Save the date – our Grade Six Graduation will take place on Friday, June 17th. Rain date will be Monday, June 20th. Please stay tuned for more details!
Bus Lane
- A friendly reminder to please not use or block the school’s bus lane throughout the school day. There is designated parking for all pick-up and drop-off needs.
- Upon pick-up in the afternoon, please do not block the end of the bus lane with additional parking.

I hope this email finds you safe and well after the March Break. We have enjoyed welcoming back our students and hearing all about their adventures while away! I have a short but important update for you this morning, please see below.
Update on Sanitary Measures –
- Please find attached the communication regarding our updated mask mandate from Public Health and the Ministry of Education.
- What’s new?
- As of today, masks are no longer required for grades 1-6 while students are seated in class; students are still required to wear masks when moving around the classroom (i.e. not seated).
- Masks for grades 1-6 are still mandatory while students are not seated and moving around in common areas (i.e. hallways, bathrooms etc.).
- Masks are still mandatory during indoor physical education (grades 1-6) and on school busses (Preschool – grade 6).
- Procedural masks will continue to be provided for students.
Air Quality Data
- As you may know, the Ministry of Education has been conducting air quality tests in schools and service centres across the province of Quebec. Please refer to the attached memo from the Director General of the Western Quebec School Board, as it explains the process in detail and provides clarity to the steps taken.

Home & School Update
- Please find attached a newsletter from Home & School regarding an upcoming Purdy’s Chocolate Fundraiser! Order now and receive your chocolate before Easter.
- Eardley Spirit Wear – a reminder that the deadline to order Eardley Spirit Wear is February 27th, 2022. Please see the attached for pricing information. Update on Sanitary Measures
- As some of you may have heard through the media or a press conference held by Premier Legault, sanitary measures within elementary schools are changing upon the return after March Break.
- Effective March 7th, 2022 – masks will no longer be required to be worn for students while in class. It is important to note that masks will still be required for common areas, physical activity and on the school bus.
- We are still awaiting the official communication from the Ministry and once received, it will be sent to our community. Please note that this is the most up to date information we have, no further details have been released.

Upcoming Spirit Days
- Tuesday, February 22nd – TWO’S Day – wear a tutu, tie or dress up as a twin!
- Wednesday, February 23rd – PINK shirt day – wear a pink shirt to show your support of Eardley’s community creating a more inclusive and kind space!
- Friday, February 25th – PJ Day – roll out of bed, come to school and get ready for March Break!
LENT Technology
- A reminder, it is time to return the lent technology from our last round of remote teaching and learning.
- If your children were lent
chromebooks/MIFIs or both, please start to prepare the materials for
return.
- What?
- All lent components – including the chromebook charger and box; MIFI device and box.
- When?
- February 14th – 18th – GRADES K4 – 3.
- February 21st – 25th – GRADES 4 – 6.
- Who?
- Please do not send the technology back with your child/ren, as this could result in the loss or damage of technology.
- Please have a responsible adult return the equipment to the front office during your designated week.
