Good Morning Eardley Community,
I hope this email finds you safe and well.
Please find attached the letter from George Singfield, our Secretary General detailing the announcement made by Premier Legault yesterday evening.
The Eardley Team will be meeting today to discuss our plan of action moving forward, making any necessary adaptations and a further update will be provided by myself and your child’s homeroom teacher by days end.
Until then, please note that we will be organizing a materials pick up early next week. Stay tuned for more information.
I understand your frustrations and know that this is not an easy time. The remote schedules have been organized as per the mandate of the Ministry of Education and therefore, Eardley does not have much leeway. We will be looking at creating common breaks and eating times for households who are navigating with more than one child.
I appreciate your feedback, words of positivity and I am here to help support your families in whatever way that I can.
Stay tuned…more information and details to come for next week.
All the best,
Samantha Halpin
Principal
Good Evening Eardley Community,
I hope this finds you and your loved ones safe, well and enjoying some sunshine.
This is a short email to inform our community that Premier Legault held a press conference this evening and announced the extension of school closures in Gatineau, Quebec. The closure has been extended to April 18th, 2021. This means our scheduled date of return to in person learning has now shifted to Monday April 19th, 2021.
Our remote schedules will be maintained for another week. I will be meeting with our team tomorrow afternoon to discuss how this week has gone and make any necessary adjustments, if need be. Each parent/guardian will receive a communication from their child’s homeroom teacher by days end tomorrow.
While this poses yet another fork in the road, we will continue to maintain unity, support your family through the uncertainty and ensure your children keep smiling.
As always, I am available should you have any questions or concerns.
All the best,
Samantha Halpin

Good Evening Eardley Community,
I hope this email finds you safe and well. At a news conference held at 5:00pm, Premier Francois Legault announced that the Outaouais region will be going back into the Red Zone effective tomorrow at 8:00pm. With this new designation, Premier Legault also announced the closer of all Gatineau schools effective tomorrow at 8:00pm until April 11th, inclusively. Please know that I am working hard to gather all of the details and put together all necessary information for our school community. At this time, this is what I know. I will be updating our community as soon as possible with Eardley’s plan of action and way forward.
One thing I can say for certain, your children will be well taken care of during this closure. We have prepared for an event such as this and we will be there to support you and your children through another change. If this pandemic has taught me anything it is truly that our community is strong and resilient. I sympathize with your frustrations and I am here to help support you and your families in any way that I can.
For tonight, spend time with your loved ones and stay safe.
