Good Afternoon Eardley Community,
I hope this email finds you well, safe and enjoying a few moments of sunshine today.
At the press conference held by Premier Legault at 1:00pm this afternoon, he announced the extension of emergency measures and school closures for the Outaouais region. Our scheduled date of return for in person learning has shifted to Monday, May 10th. By this Friday, you will receive next week’s remote learning schedule from your child’s homeroom teacher.
I know that this may be unwelcomed news to some, if not many. We will continue to focus on a balance between meeting Ministry expectations and building strength within our classroom and school community. Our messaging remains – take care of yourself, take care of your family and please remember to put mental health and well-being at the forefront. The school will continue to support your children the best way we know how – with knowledge, compassion and a big smile.
I am hopeful that we will be able to see our students smiling faces and hear their laughter filling our hallways soon. For now, we focus on the safety of everyone and continue to provide our educational services remotely. I do believe there is a light at the end of this tunnel; I look forward to the day where we can all come together and celebrate the tremendous amount of hard work we have put forward this past year.
From everyone at Eardley – THANK YOU for your continued patience, support and kind words.
Stay safe and I hope to see you soon,
Samantha Halpin
Principal

Good Afternoon Eardley Community,
I hope this email finds you well. Please see below for an update on our remote learning moving into next week.
The Ministry of Education has prescribed the remote learning hours based on each Cycle level. Eardley is meeting this requirement and offering a variety of ways to support your child through this extended closure. Please know that I am aware of the added stress and pressure this puts on our parent/guardian community. Therefore, I want to make it clear that the schedules sent are what we are offering; please do what you can given your family’s circumstances. In no way shape or form will your child be penalized for not attending a scheduled block. If one day proves difficult, take the necessary break that is needed. If the scheduled work is causing a meltdown at home, put it aside. The last thing we want to add to anyone’s plate amidst all of this uncertainty is more stress. So please, do what you can and we will continue to be here to guide and support the best we can.
I want to extend my sincere appreciation for all of your hard work over the past week supporting your children as we have adapted to remote learning. Your continuous support and positivity has lifted our team and allowed us to continue to be the best versions of ourselves given the current circumstances.

If your child is absent for a particular reason, please notify Stephanie Lelievre @ SLelievre@wqsb.qc.ca . If we do not have a reason provided, please expect a phone call from Stephanie Lelievre.
- Our Teams Platform will be used for our virtual classrooms. Your child’s Western Quebec email and password will be needed for access. This has been shared many times; however, if you need it again please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.
