Good Afternoon Eardley Community,
I hope this email finds you safe and well. I have an important update for you today, please see below.
- Rapid Testing for ALL
Elementary School Families
- Further to my communication on the 15th, five rapid tests will be given to every elementary student at Eardley.
- The tests have arrived at the school and will be handed out by each homeroom teacher today, December 17th, 2021.
- Please see the attached
documentation to prepare. A paper copy of the instructions have also been
provided in French and English for all students.
- What does this mean?
- Each student will be sent home with five rapid tests (December 17th, 2021).
- We will not be making appointments for parent(s)/guardian(s) to pick up the rapid tests.
- The rapid tests can be used at your discretion, they are not mandatory for school attendance.
- If you complete a rapid test at home due to your child(ren) displaying Covid-19 symptoms and the result is positive, they are to seek testing from a Santé Publique testing centre – the child is NOT to attend school.
- If you complete a rapid test at home due to your child(ren) displaying Covid-19 symptoms and the result is negative, the same rule applies – please monitor your child’s symptoms and do NOT send your child to school while sick.
- No student should be coming to school while sick, regardless of the rapid test result.
- What does this mean?
There has been no further communication from the Ministry of Education regarding additional testing kits. If the school receives more testing kits, I will inform the community.
As always, I remain available should you have any questions or concerns.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead,
Samantha Halpin
