    What’s Happening at Eardley? February 5, 2024

    Parking Lot

We are having some difficulty with the parking lot. I do not have the staffing to place a lot attendant to manage the parking lot and I’m sure we would all like to keep that support for the children. I am asking for your support.

    • Please do not park along the entrance and exit lanes coming into and leaving the lot at pick-up and drop-off. You are welcome to park legally along the street and walk in.
    • The parking lot is a ONE WAY. Please obey the parking signage.
    • Due to the limited parking spots, please do not congregate in the parking lot. After drop-off and pick-up, please vacate the spots so other parents/guardians can use the lot.

    5-Year-Old Kindergarten Registration

Registration for 5-year-old Kindergarten begins February 7 and 8 at the WQSB from 8:30am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-6:30pm.

    4-Year-Old Kindergarten Registration

Registration for 4-year-old Kindergarten is by appointment only from February 26 to March 1. Please contact, our secretary, Kim Teske at kimteske@wqsb.qc.ca to make an appointment.

    Late Arrivals

There are an increasing number of late arrivals. Our school bell rings at 7:55am. We understand that homes can be busy in the morning, so there is no judgement. We want you to know that morning routines at school are important for students to be set for the day and start the day with confidence in the tasks assigned. Missing the morning routine can start the day playing catch-up. It would certainly be beneficial for all our students if they are able to be on-time.

    Friendship Breakfast

February 14 is our annual Friendship Breakfast. We are asking parents/guardians to contribute to this fun Eardley family event. We are looking for donations of: Juice, Milk, Cereals, Eggos, Cream Cheese, Croissants, Yogurt, Cheese, Fresh Fruit (washed & cut up), paper plates, cutlery, & any other breakfast items – Homemade nut free items accepted! Please label them.

    Grad Photo Retakes

If you missed graduation photos or require retakes, the date has been set for February 16.

    Bus Safety Campaign

The bus safety campaign is ongoing for the 2023-2024 school year. Please see the message below from our Director General, George Singfield.

Dear members of the WQSB community,

Ensuring the safety of our students during bus transportation remains our priority at the Western Québec School Board (WQSB). Led by the dedicated team of the Bus Transportation Group, Amélie Gascon, Judy Cadieux-Fortin, and Lee-Ann Beaulé, we are proud to announce the launch of the 2023-2024 Bus Safety Campaign.  Through fostering a culture of responsibility and awareness, our aim is to continue to cultivate a safe environment for all students.

The cornerstone of the Bus Safety Campaign lies in adherence to key principles of bus safety, which include:

    1. Implementing proper boarding and disembarking procedures.

    2. Encouraging respectful behavior onboard.

    3. Promoting cooperation with our drivers.

Let’s ensure a safe and positive experience for every student on their journey to and from school.
